full movie 'John Tucker must die'

  • The film John Tucker must die is a romantic comedy genre
  • The main characters are displayed in the picture above, the guy is John Tucker and the four girls become his worst nightmare.

  • The stock setting of this film is a school where most of the friend groups are alike with their appearance and styles. for example the goths stick together which connotes the dominant ideology that media represents teens in clicks because of their appearance and are named by the groups style and social status of the school.
  • There is a longview shot of the girls fighting and arguing over a guy who cheated them all except for the blonde one holding the book (kate) it connotes there relationship is not great however when they realise they have something in common, the relationship soon progresses and kate helps them get even.
  • The relationship between John and Kate becomes close and they start falling for each other however kate towards him is faking it as she is getting him back for the girls, which connotes its only a fake romantic relationship.
  • Kate and Johns brother start to get to know eachother throughtout and start liking eachother this is shown through closeups.

  • Tracking movement follows the romance scenes which connotes the progress of the relationship.
  • close up shots are used to show awkard conflicts between the girls which connotes set backs on there revenge plan. It also emphaises the emotions and personalitys of the girls as they all want more control, it connotes the ideology of the media today that girls all use power stuggle, they want more power over the other when it comes to plans or situations.
  • There is mid shots of John and each different girl having a meal with him, it represents his way with each girl and how he knows how to get them more attached to him, it connotes what kind of guy he is.
  • There is handheld camera throughout by one of the girls who captures each moment of revenge elements, it emphasises the theme of the film.
  • There is a pan movement from the girls speaking of the next step to the revenge which connotes the friendship progressing and them working together which is a dominant ideology of girls always sticking together and put friends first.

  • The music is in the background so the audience can hear the characters speaking, in the middle of the film the music changes and becomes louder and has lyrics that represent the mood and atmosphere which connotes it is relevant and the audience feel more apart of the scene.
  • The costumes relate to style of that click and person, the four main girls each come from different clicks. The cheerleader obviously wears more gym wear and a little uniform outfit which connotes shes part of the cheer squad. Then theres the girl who does not eat meat and does not agree with killing animals, she was a hippy/ eco warrior and then the other girl was clean cut perfect hair and she was more of an organiser, did not really have many friends as she just does loads of things to keep busy. Then Kate is the new girl and has not been in a click so she just wears her style and what clothes she likes, she does not follow everyone else. Its the ideology of teens just following their friends and not really having there own style for themselves.
